  I bought this for my grandson to hear soft music and be able to hug something as he drifts off to sleep. This is a great product as a take -off on adult sound machines

  My 5-week old loves his sleep sheep! We have the big one at home on the crib & this one for travel (attaches to the pack-n-play, bouncer chair, etc). Very soothing for the little guy - especially when trying to get him to fall asleep in unfamiliar places. The heartbeat sound on the original size is not available on the "on to go" size...but my favorites are the ocean & whale (mostly bc I don't mind listening to it through the monitor when I'm trying to fall asleep too).
  
  A few things...
  -There is a timer on it that shuts its off after about 1/2 hour or an hour. This could be a downside if your baby needs it continously playing...my little guy only needs it to fall asleep. If he wakes up & I have to settle him back down...I just turn it back on.
  -The volume control is great! I turn it up in noisier environments or if mounted farther away from his ears.
  -Super soft & cuddly! Pretty cute too!
  -Easily attaches anywhere!
  
  If I had seen this one before I bought my original size one...I would have just purchase 2 of these & saved the cost difference (paid $5 more for the full size).

  This is in fact a magic sheep that soothes the baby to sleep. I received this item (the travel size) as a gift and I am extremely grateful for it. It's a wonderful item for baby, including the softness of it. You can change the amount of time from 23 minutes to 45 minutes which is more than enough. Our little boy loves it.   We just received the sleep sheep yesterday, and not coincidentally our five-week old slept in her crib for the first time with the sleep sheep hanging on the side nearby. Just this morning she got a bit fussy, and the sleep sheep calmed her down in about a minute and a half. I like the timed feature--45 minutes seems just enough to do the trick. The sheep is made out of very soft material too and is super cute. I agree that the on-the-go version is jus the right size. Like many of the reviewers, we practice the 5 Ss of _Happiest Baby on the Block_. The shushing gets a bit tiring, but the sound of the sleep sheep serves the purpose, and more effectively. It even serves as a little pillow for her head when we've swaddled her and are jiggling her. This is a terrific product that will be indispensable for us.   We love this sleep sheep as it has the sound of nature that our daughter likes. It keeps her calmed and helps her sleep by herself. It is very cute.
  Pro: - you can wash the stuff animal / sheep. (you can take the electronic part of it out).
  - it has 4 different sounds of natures.
  - it's small and light, so you can hang it to the crib.
  Con: - the longest duration of the noise maker/sound only 45 minutes.
  - sometimes the turn on dial does not work as it should. It keeps shutting it off by itself even though we change the batteries. We have turned it all the way off, and waited for a few seconds, then turned it back on.
  
  We have to buy another one since the other one is having issue (keeps shutting off by itself), and we keep one at the daycare and one at home. Over all it is very good item to have.
