The iBert Safe-T seat was developed after its creators became frustrated with the available bike seat options for children. They found that bike trailers kept their kids uncomfortably far away from them, got too hot in the sun, and only provided a limited view out to the children. The rear-mounted seats presented similar problems. The kids had a limited view and it was difficult to interact with them. Additionally, the balance of the bike was off and it was not easy to load and unload the kids. Other front mounted seats were complicated to hook onto the bike and difficult to remove. These seats also did not allow knee clearance for biking, and as a result were not comfortable.
The iBert Safe-T seat offers a variety of safety and comfort advantages compared to other child bike seat options. The iBert Safe-T seat allows you to maintain control of the bike when loading and unloading your child. To load and unload the child, you simply straddle the bike and lift the child into or out of the seat. When using the iBert seat you can always see what your child is doing and you can make sure that your child is safe and comfortable at all times. The center of gravity in the iBert seat is closer to the center of the bike making it easier to control the bike as you ride. The seat sits higher on the bike and is smooth on the bottom so that even tall riders rarely brush the bottom of the seat with their knees and if they do they just glide along the smooth edges on the bottom.
The iBert Safe-T seat is easy to install. The patented stinger assembly attaches to any bike with a minimum of 3/4 inches on the handle bar stem. The stinger system attaches to the bike in just two minutes and the seat can then be attached and detached from the stinger in 15 seconds. If you buy additional stinger assemblies the seat can be attached to multiple bikes.
The iBert Safe-T seat is made in the U.S.A. with safety and quality as the main objectives. While the iBert Safe-T seat is designed to meet all 1625-00 standards, at this time ASTM 1625-00 is written for rear child carriers not front mounted seats.

We purchased this seat for our son who is 16 months old and weights 27 lb. At first I was a little skeptical because my son does not keep a hat on, so I was worried about the helmet. I wanted to give it try anyway. I am so glad I did, he loves it and doesn't even try to get the helmet out. I guess he is too distracted to think about it. We are enjoying life outdoors much more now!

I just got this today. It took me 5 minutes to put together. I took it for a spin with my 19 month old and I love it. I know I am going to get my money's worth with this!!!I am waiting for my co-pilot to arrive so I can take my 6 year old with as well. Just make sure you have 3/4" of space at the base of the handlebars to attach the apparatus!

Definatley a eye-catcher when riding. Well done for a simple child bicycle seat that does not interfere with your pedaling vs. other child bicycle seats out there. My son (20 months)loves it!! He begs for the rides everyday after we pick him up from daycare and arrive home. Good for us to get our exercise...
One tough moment was when we took him one day with the iBert child seat to the Santa Fe dam park from the Azusa mountain bike trail and although we spent some time at the park, he knocked out and it looked tough to see him hanging on the side with his arms hanging down... I immediately remembered one of the reviews commenting on that. Otherwise it's great! But the price is a bit steep... but there isn't another price I could find better than what I got it for at Amazon.
Also, simple to take off and put on. VERY VERY SIMPLE. We rate the seat 4 out of 5 because the straps could of been better (slip off if not tightened well and very simple material) Price was bit steep. But we love the product.

I did a lot of searches and read so many reviews before settling on the Ibert safe-y-seat. And it was definitely worth the time reading reviews. I got my Ibert in less than a week and the actual hook up to my mountain bike was a breeze! The instructions it came with was short, simple and to the point. The iBert safe-T-seat uses a very simple mounting bracket (called the "stinger") that mounts to the steerer tube of the fork, just below the stem. It uses two bolts and takes only 5 minutes to install (actually, it took me 20 minutes but only because I had to figure out how to dissasemble my handle bar from the stem.) A minumum of 3/4 IS required, so if you don't have any spacers on your steerer tube, you may be out of luck. My bike's steerer tube was actually a little shorter than the whole "stinger" mount and only fit a little more than half way after removing the spacers completely, but it still works.

I'm 6'1" and ride a larger beach cruiser with the Ibert. I have no problem with peddling.Meaning I don't have to bow my knees around the the Ibert to peddle. I imagine it would be a problem if I had a smaller cruiser.I ride a jamis earth cuiser 21" I think. It's great being able to interact with him as opposed to having him hidden behind me. Bike feels well balanced.
