I did extensive research on MP3 players for toddlers and I couldn't believe that this was the only durable product on the market, so I decided to get it regardless of the high price (lets not forget that this is only MP3 player with small speaker).
The good:
- very durable
- good sound
- headphone jack
The bad:
- the price - you can get ipod nano for less
- the hidden volume control is a great idea, but to access it you have to hold the play/stop button, which also turns on the player, therefore my kid gets into the parents menu instead of turning on the player. I forgot to mention that you have to hold on to that same button for a sec to turn it on, then you hold on again to get into the menu. In few words my 2 years old daughter lost interest pretty quick when the music doesn't come on.
- the auto shut option is also a great idea, but after the device turns itself off it doesn't remember the setting and when the toddler turns it back on it can stay on until the batteries are dead.
My daughter lost interest after 2 days and she loves music, so I got her the old fashion boom box and it works great so far. I saw that there were many good reviews and I hate to bash a product, but I want it to give one more perspective for future buyers.

It was great while it worked, but the batteries it came with died quickly, so I replaced them with new ones. I had some issues getting it to turn on and then after reinserting the batteries it seemed to work, but only for a few days. After that it just started flashing "loading..." and I couldn't get it to do anything other than that so gave up. The product seems to have some quality issues as I noticed a few others had similar problems.

We bought this for my special needs son who loves music. It was perfect because we could load his music on it instead of pre-loaded music lists. He has thrown it down on tile, dropped it, chewed on it, pressed the buttons constantly (I don't think he's listened to any song all the way through) and it's still playing. It has three play lists so we can seperate favorites from "occassional likes"

Our 2 yr old really loves music. She always wants to play some kind of music with her toys so we thought this would be a nice Santa gift and we've been very happy with it. It is a little difficult to navigate song to song and if it had some "favorite" buttons or something, it would be a five star. It is very small and nice for her to hold. The auto-off feature is great and the sound is better than you would expect. I look forward to her using it more until she can use a more normal mp3 player when she is older. We like this and would buy it again.

Very happy with this MP3 Player for my 2yr old. One thing to keep in mind: it requires a size 1 screwdriver to change the batteries. Keep one on hand!!!
