If you need any extra stuff for this game once you own it you can get lots of stuff aftermarket. Cool dice, more chips, more figures. You just need to poke around the web a bit. fieldmarshalgames is nice, advancedaxisandallies is also a cool site. The community of those who love these games is immense. axisandallies org.
Have fun find more maps, find more rules. get more pieces... that is what is so great about this game and these series of games. Since I bought the original edition in 1984, this game has really exploded.

This game takes at least 1 hour to set up, but it is worth it! There are actual plastic people, and a great way to play with the dice. I highly reccomend it.

I owned 2 copies of the original. Found out just recently a new one was out and bought two more (some occasions we have 10 people playing side by side). I would recommend to anyone that is willing to read the instruction manual for 20min before playing. Nothing like playing with 4 friends devising strategy to bring down the opposition and win the war.

My friend introduced us to Axis and Allies and after buying this we have all been hooked on it. We play every month or so and have a great time. I would recommend it to everyone who is looking for a good WWII strategy game. Although the game rarely turns out to be historically accurate, and it can sometimes take a good deal of time (12 hours during the longest, although we have recently stopped the game, written everything down, and started at a later time), it is worth the small price listed. This game is worth a hundred dollars at least.

Axis and Allies 1942 is a great board game for those interested in strategy and playing with friends. Up to five players can play this game, each one representing a world power during WWII. The game mixes a great balance of air, sea and land combat. It allows the players to purchase units based on the production of their country, manuever across a very detailed map of the world and combat the enemy. Victory is achieved when one side captures enough victory cities and holds them until the end of the turn order.
Axis and Allies is a huge series of games, many other specialized versions exist. This is a great starter game to purchase if you have interest in the Axis and Allies series. This game is a steal at $24! It will provide hours of fun between a group of friends or two players struggling for victory!
