Perfect for the young trike-rider, this innovative model from Radio Flyer offers some remarkable features that both children and adults are sure to love. The removable, 4-position push handle on the steering wheel enables you to turn the front wheel while your child rides. When she's old enough to steer on her own, you can remove it. The freewheeling pedals allow your child to coast while you push, and the sturdy, tubular steel frame has flip-down foot rests. Also features 10-inch front wheel, durable molded wheels with grip tread, soft removable cargo pack, adjustable seat and ringing bell. Measures approximately 30" x 21.5" x 23".

Upon reading both the positive and negative reviews I figured I would add my 2 cents. While the negative reviews are correct that the steering from the handle isn't fantastic it works and hasn't been a problem for me. It is nice to be able to push the bike in this way and my son enjoys it when we go on walks. He still hasn't mastered the pedaling so that is a work in progress. Overall I am pleased with the bike and have no complaints. I am however not blown away by the product either. I would still reccomend the product if you are looking for a tricycle. My son got it before he turned 2 and although he was a bit small for the bike we never needed a seatbelt and he has enjoyed it from day one.

Many special needs children have developmental issues which affect their kinetic and coordination abilities; ie. stair climbing, ball throwing.
It takes alot to properly maneuver a tricycle. Proper seating, pedal initiation, rotation, momentum, direction, balance. Our daugher had difficulty with these seemingly simple trike riding skills. So we tried this parent assisted trike. Our gentle assistance has really proven beneficial. And she is proud of her new accomplishment.
The trike was easy to assemble. It is a sturdy unit. The paental steering bar works great. And the price is affordable. Compare this to the 'bike store' brands which start at around $100-120.
Note to some critics: Yes it has plastic parts. Hello - it is not meant for off road moutain trails. Yes it can tip sideways. That is the nature of all tricycles. The back wheels must be spaced far apart to help prevent this tippage. But that in turn affects the steering ratio. Such is also the case for three wheeled motorcycles. It has no brake. See if you can find a tricycle with brakes.
The parental steering bar comes off when your child is an accomplished rider. And it comes in a very pretty girlie pink color.

Like other people have said great idea & poor execution.
Don't tip it up using the adult steering handle. This must be to hard on the plastic and nylon components.
I took ours all apart to see what was wrong. There are several plastic parts that link the back to the front steering. Each one was a little loose. All together it was really loose. I used tape to shim the plastic bushings on the metal shaft. Same thing on the top and bottom of the adult steering handle. It seems to help.
They must have changed the design at some point. Mine uses bevel gears at the front and back.

Sturdy, durable, attractive, and extremely desirable for toddler who enthusiastically embraces it. There are several installation instructions that could use modifications. That would be the only negative I see so far. Delivered in timely fashion and as described and ordered.

We've had our tricycle since Christmas, and I haven't had any problems yet. My toddler girl (age 2.5) is still learning how to pedal on her own, so the push bar is very handy. It seems very comfortable for her, too. I have been pretty gentle with the push bar steering mechanism, so I haven't had any problems. It is probably not the most durable tricycle out there, but it does the job, and I got it right before Christmas when they had it for a much lower price.
