"Ink is NOT washable"2010-04-19 By Scott J. Taylor (Milwaukee, WI) All parents should be aware that your kids should have fun with this toy but they should also wear clothing that can be stained. Other than that, very good quality product.
"Nice stamp set!"2010-03-24 By EAM (Virginia) This is a really nice stamp set. The handles are perfect for younger kids like my 2 year old daughter. The ink washes off with no problems
"Good stamp set for the money."2010-03-17 By E. Morawitz I ordered this for my 2 yr old. He loves it! I think he's a bit too young for it though - probably better for a 3 yr. old and older.
"stamps"2010-02-17 By R. Bieneman The ink in the stamp pad dried up in no time. My kids got bored fast. The little stampers are a good size for little hands.
"stamp set"2010-02-06 By V. Borowski I gave to a child for Christmas and she loved it. It was perfect to go with her card making kit.

"Great first set"2010-04-20 By j.d. (california) Got this for my 2 1/2 year old daughter and she loves it. She can easily put the pieces together and often "narrates" what she is building. What looks like a jumble of blocks is actually a playground with all kinds of fantastical features :) Obviously it builds imagination and dexterity while having fun. This particular set is a great value for the number of pieces you receive and there is extra room in the container for you to add to the collection with more pieces as needed. Overall great toy and great value. Also we have played with the "megablocks?" version (the generic version) and they are not nearly as durable/sturdy as the LEGO brand.
"Happy!"2010-04-16 By Hattie M. Johnson MY four year old grandson and I is really enjoying the legos. It just the right size for him!
"Who knew legos were fun..."2010-04-15 By Rebecca Rosen (Los Angeles, CA United States) So, let me start by saying that when I was a little girl, I didn't like legos or lincoln logs or anything of the sort. And while I have a nephew who buys and assembles all of the extraordinary lego sets, I never thought we'd have them in my house due to my own biases. However, when a developmental specialist recommended that we use legos with one of our twin toddler girls, I instantly bought the LEGO Duplo Building Set.
Her love to practice stacking the legos and keep trying is awesome. It's wonderful to see her enjoy the legos and get better eye hand coordination every step of the way. In the meantime her sister, probably loves them as much as I did. And she loves to take apart what her sister put together and throw them everywhere. C'est la vie.
These legos definitely keep my girls occupied for 30 minutes, and with toddler twins that's a bonus.
"great classic toy!"2010-04-15 By Sara Collins Carlson (Olney, MD United States) After reading several reviews, I decided to go with this set because my child is only 14 months old so we are just starting her out with Legos. She likes at this age to take them apart after I build them. This set is a great first set to start with. Don't buy the smaller set with 30 some odd pieces b/c it won't be enough.
"Nothing tells you this is the "Preschool Building" set"2010-04-01 By Lula McBride (New York City) This listing on Amazon does not give all the information about this set. This is the "Preschool Building" set. I thought I was buying a good mix and variety of blocks to form a basic foundation for building a lego collection and this is not a basic set as I wanted. It's to specifically build a preschool building, tree and some kind of vehicle. There are a ton of the tiny square blocks, and much fewer of the standard size blocks. Which makes it not so great for kids under 2 because the tiny square blocks can be choking hazards.
This educational kit is loaded with more than 300 projects to build. For example, kids can learn how transistors and capacitors function, and how to make time-delay circuits. In addition, this version includes circuits showing how oscillators and photo sensors work. Projects involve an AM Radio, Burglar Alarm, Radio Announcer and more. Contains over 60 parts. Requires 4 "AA" batteries, not included. Electronic Snap Circuits by Elenco is an award-winning toy for budding engineers eight years old and above. The SC-300 model includes over 60 parts for creating more than 300 exciting projects. With lights, sounds, motors, and more, you'll not only enjoy creating beeping games, but also learn about basic electronics as well!
Making a simple flying UFO took only a few minutes. View larger.

What We Think
Fun Factor:
Durability:
(what this means)
The Good: Makes learning about electronics fun.
The Bad: Physics principles can be difficult to understand.
In a Nutshell: Interactive, hands-on way of playing with electronics that is fun and educational.
At a Glance
Ages: 8 and older Requires: 4 AA batteries
Real Electronic Parts Electronic Snap Circuits includes real circuit components just like the circuit boards inside radios, televisions, computers, and other electronic devices. This set makes it easy for anyone to create simple electronic circuits and devices. To operate, you simply snap the electronic elements onto a plastic grid, and then connect them together with wire pieces that snap easily into place.
The SC-300 lets you build electronic devices such as a whistle chip, speaker, alarm circuit, LED, lamp socket, fan motor, and a speaker. Additional pieces can be purchased separately, or in different models, and they can all be used together to create larger and more elaborate projects.
Making Electronics Fun and Easy The included instruction manual offers 305 projects ranging from a simple light switch to a noise-activated burglar alarm. We found the color-coded instruction manual clear and easy to understand, and we had no problems creating any of the projects we tried. The projects are organized by levels of difficulty, and each project teaches an objective such as "To show how electricity can only pass in one direction through an LED."
We definitely experienced a sense of satisfaction as we completed each project, and we definitely learned about electronics concepts. The manufacturer recommends the set for ages 8-108; younger engineers should be able to easily follow the diagrams for each project, but will probably require their parents to help explain how everything works. So a word of warning to parents: Brush up on your high school physics! Although the instruction offers some good information, we found that we still needed to brush up on the physics we learned years ago so we could understand concepts such as the difference between a circuit in parallel and in series.
Unique Learning Experience Creating a flying UFO from "scratch" with rudimentary electronic pieces was highly satisfying to us, and we think Electronic Snap Circuits may well help young students gain and foster an appreciation for, and interest in, how electronics work and are built.
For students who are already learning about electronics in school, this set creates a hands-on experience that makes for more fun than reading about how these things work in a textbook. So don't be surprised if report cards come back with higher grades after playing with this toy.
Parent-Child Bonding Experience The Elenco Electronic Snap Circuits would make a great parent-child bonding experience that is both educational and fun. As you work through each project with your child, don't be surprised when you, too, are learning something new and interesting. And after you've completed all the projects, you can create your own! The combinations are limitless!
What's in the Box Plastic "circuit board," over 60 pieces including wire, resistors, speaker, battery holder, motor fan, red led, and lamp module.

"grandson joy"2010-04-20 By Michael J. Riordan (Torquay, Australia) The message is loud and clear. My grandson LOVES his birthday present, a toy that is as fun as it is educational. Thanks for getting the present to him so promptly without a hitch. From me in Australia to him in Indiana--simple!
"Snap Circuits Mom"2010-04-14 By C. Edenfield (COMMERCE, GA, US) My 10 year old son asked for this after using Snap Circuits Jr. at school. It provides hours of not just fun but educational value for him his friends and older sister. It makes electronics simple to understand. I found the best price on Amazon.com This is an execellent product.
"Shows how valuable Amazon reviews are"2010-04-13 By Bob C (Santa Clara, CA United States) I bought this for my 10 y.o. son who has shown little interest in science and who, I felt, was falling behind in his 4th grade science subject. His class had done experiements with circuits and he didn't seem very interested.
I wasn't sure if he'd like this or not, but thought I'd give it to him for his birthday. I was prompted by the great reviews. I was half expecting him to turn up his nose when he receive it, but he didn't. It sat on the floor for a few days unopened but then one day he picked it up showing interest in it. I opened it and he began creating the projects that come in the book. He really loved it and so did his 6 y.o. sister. They sit and put the projects together.
My only criticism would be to echo one of the other reviewers that it would be good if the booklet describes a little more what's going on electrically. There are some very complex circuits that you get to build and, for the life of me, I can't figure out how they work. From that point of view, it's not as educational as I'd like. But everything else about the toy is just great.
I have found that every highly-rated toy I've bought at Amazon (and I buy mostly everything on Amazon) has been great. Now when I need to buy a gift, I just go to toys and filter for age and four star or higher reviews. I'm never disappointed.
"A Great Gift for the Right Kid"2010-04-03 By Stephen (Southern CA) I got this kit for my 10 year old. We had been experimenting with kit electric motors, magnets and radios and everything ended up mixed in a box that he liked to play with, so there was interest in this type of toy.
The parts of this kit snap together on a clear plastic grid. The instruction book is a black and white center stapled pamphlet that can be challenging to decipher for builds that are more complex. My son liked building the simple circuit that included the motor with the fan. Many of the advanced plans are very similar.
The kit seems durable but not indestructable. My kids can be pretty rough on things so they have been using this kit with my supervision.
For most kids under 10, this is not the type of toy that they can play with on their own. I have my son use this toy at the dining room table. We check to make sure that all of the parts get back in their place when we are done.
This is an educational toy. My experience is that early exposure to learning experiences like this can shape interests later on in life.
I would have liked to have seen a description of what the various modules do to the electricity to make the magic happen.
If you have any specific questions please leave a comment and I'll try to get back to you as soon as I can.
"A Learning Experience"2010-03-26 By Jane Babcock (Reston, VA) My grandson 8 has learned many facts about electricity. He has enjoyed the projects and has many more to do. A great gift for a young person showing an interest in sceince.

"Just use kitchen supplies and plastic cups. Worthless experiments."2010-04-06 By Someone Manual: Is just a cheap white xerox copy looking print out folded and stapled. With NO pictures. Very few experiments and they are all pretty much the same experiments. All just ways to view the interaction of acids and basics.
Hardware supplies: 3 little plastic dixie cups. 3 plastic test tubes with rounded bottoms and no rack to hold them. They want you to put them in a cup to hold them for viewing. They could have at least made the bottoms flat or included a cheap rack to go with the cheap test tubes. 2 straws, a pippet, and 2 measuring spoons that do not have the measurement amounts printed on them, but instead are referred to as the medium and small spoon. No clay or anything to mold a basic volcano. Instead they include a recipe for using flour to make a really bad paste for the volcano.
Chemicals: pretty much everything you already have in your kitchen except for the Citric Acid, which you could buy somewhere else or use Vinegar which works better in many of the acid/basic experiments.
While I knew when I bought this that the supplies would likely be over priced for this kit. I was expecting that the cost was justified for what I was expecting the manual to be. The manual should have been a nice color experiment book with pictures. And should have been a good collection of experiments that were more than just make colors change and watch the bubbles. Worthless kit. Just google for some simple experiments yourself. You likely have everything in your kitchen already and you will likely find more exciting things to show and teach your kids. I would return this kit if I had a choice.
"Excellent science starter kit"2010-03-26 By z hayes (TX) I got this kit for my 5-year-old daughter who loves doing little experiments and I decided to try this kit out. It comes with a set of items that facilitate a range of relatively easy and fun experiments. The kit contains: red cabbage juice powder, citric acid, baking soda, color tablets, cross-linked polyacrylamide crystals, vegetable oil, corn starch, 2 sheets of goldenrod paper, 2 cotton swabs, 3 test tubes and caps, 3 clear plastic cups, 1 pipette (in the form of an eye dropper), 2 stir sticks, 1 small plastic scoop, and 1 medium plastic scoop. The experiments also call for some basic and easy-to-find household items such as water, baking flour, plate/tray, tape, red and blue pens, grape juice, coffee filter paper, etc.
An older child may be able to conduct these experiments by him/herself though I feel adult supervision is necessary (it is also recommended by the manufacturer). I had to help my daughter with some parts of the experiments, especially those involving the use of citric acid. The experiments included here are: Dancing Powders Color changing liquids Acid or Base? - involves testing some safe household liquids to determine if they are acids or bases. Colorful Jiggle Crystals - we had so much fun with these! It does require patience as it takes up to 2 hours for the crystals to absorb the water and form into soft crystals. Test tube sunset Giant Jiggly Crystals Color Changing Volcano - this was awesome! We started on a modest scale making a small volcano, then I adapted the recipe and made a bigger one with bigger fizzy effects, to my preschooler's delight! Underwater Volcano Color Changing Paper Color Changing Grapes Magic Ooze Mix Colors with your eyes - mixing colors without them touching each other.
Each experiment comes with detailed step by step instructions, and also a segment titled "Mind Blowing Science Secrets" which I found quite educational.
Final verdict - this is an excellent beginner science kit that will motivate young children and enhance their interest in science. The experiments are easy to produce and great fun - definitely worth the money!
"Satisfactory Science"2010-03-13 By Kathryn A. Booher I purchased this kit for my 4 year old daughter. She currently wants to be a "Scientist" when she grows up, so she demanded a "real" science kit. When we opened it and saw it had 3 test tubes she nearly exploded with excitement. "IT IS REAL SCIENCE!" The experiements are very simple, but fun and satisfying. It is a great way to introduce science concepts to young minds. It isn't inquiry-based science because the experiments are structured step by step, but it has sparked enough curiousity that she is starting to ask questions and seek answers without the guidance of a kit, and that is the ultimate success. Excellent purchase.
"Great gift for a godchild"2010-02-12 By GOODCOSMO (Mobile, AL) I purchased this as a birthday present for my godchild a 7 year old boy. After talking with his parents I found out it was a complete hit and his favorite birthday present by far.
"Fun for 6 year old"2010-02-06 By C. Fox (OH) This set was a hit with my 6 year old granddaughter. She liked all the experiments and was able to perform them with minimal help. It didn't take long for her to go through all of them, though, and she was wishing there were more.

"Baby Remote Control!"2010-04-29 By T. A. Martin (Elgin, IL) This is great! I purchased this recently for my almost 8 month old son. He loves to push the buttons and listen to the sounds. It is perfect for when the kids start to dive for the remotes! This completely takes the place of that! All the number buttons have 3 sounds. The volume control is actually the volume control for the remote. I would definitely recommend this product!
"Entertaining and Educational"2010-04-26 By Samantha CW (New Jersey) I bought this toy for my daughter when she was about 8 months old because she kept trying to take the real TV remote. She loved it from the first time she played with it and it is one of her favorite toys. The blinking eyes at the top make her smile and laugh every time. The remote counts and makes cute little noises and features some Sesame Street character quotes, but one of the best parts is that the Volume buttons on the toy actually control it's volume! So, if your kid loves it but it's driving you crazy, you can turn it down. It's fantastic.
"Very disappointed in Sesame Street and Fisher-Price"2010-04-09 By Andrew Clayton (Little Rock, AR) I can't believe how crappy this plastic thing looks. My 14mo daughter loves Elmo and likes the remote but I can't get over the fact that not only was the plastic horribly stamped - the one I got was repackaged. The plastic is a rough surface with uneven smoothing. It has damage to its shell that could only have been done by someone who had it out of the package and returned it. Very disappointed in 2 companies I'd hoped to trust.
"Keeps her away from my remote."2010-04-06 By Dustin A. Shammo While this is a great toy to keep my daughter away from my remote, she doesn't spend long with it. Although she does like it, it's not as entertaining as I would have thought.
"easy to hold - even for little hands"2010-04-05 By Lisa M. Bombara (Plainville, CT) This is a good toy for kids who are always trying to grab your real remote. It makes quite a bit of noise - but not too bad. My twins will play with it for quite a while - great toy for the car.
